CODE OF CONDUCT

Players, parents, fans, coaches and all Tempest Lacrosse staff are to conduct themselves in a manner that "Honors the Game “and demonstrates respect to other players, coaches, officials and fans. In becoming a member of Tempest Lacrosse, an individual assumes certain commitments and responsibilities to the sport of lacrosse. The essential components in this "Code of Conduct" are HONESTY and INTEGRITY. Those who conduct themselves in a manner that reflects these components will bring credit to the sport of lacrosse, their team and the Tempest Lacrosse program.  This conduct will help our program earn and maintain a positive image and make its full contribution locally and nationally.  Tempest Lacrosse supports the following behaviors for those participating or involved in any way:

  • The "Code of Conduct" must be adhered to at all times.

  • Sportsmanship and fair play are essential to the game of lacrosse and the Tempest Lacrosse program.

  • The emphasis on winning should never be placed above the value of good sportsmanship, the concepts of fair play, or the fundamentals of the game.

  • Derogatory comments are unacceptable at all times.  This includes comments made to or about players, parents, fans, officials, coaches or other teams/programs.

  • The wellbeing and safety of the participants are of primary importance. Communicate to coaches any injury, illness or other health issues directly related to your ability to perform or participate to the fullest extent.

  • Adults and parents involved with Tempest Lacrosse must never openly or maliciously criticize, badger, harass, or threaten an official, coach or opposing player/team.

  • Knowledge of the rules of lacrosse must be respected and adhered to by all who participate in the Tempest Lacrosse program. Attempts to manipulate rules in an effort to take unfair advantage is considered unacceptable behavior

Any member of the Tempest Lacrosse program that does not adhere to this Code of Conduct is subject to removal from the program.  Such removal is at the discretion of the Tempest Lacrosse founders and can be temporary or permanent.
